Mann Lake
Arctic Leaf Inc. | UX Design | Responsive Website
As UX Designer at Arctic Leaf, I led the end-to-end user experience design phase for Mann Lake's e-commerce rebuild, translating business and content requirements into scalable user flows, and designing a flexible BigCommerce experience that improved navigation, merchandising, and content management across the site.
The Challenge
Mann Lake's e-commerce experience struggled to support a large, content-heavy catalog while remaining easy to navigate for new and returning customers. Product discovery, promotions, and merchandising were difficult to manage, and internal teams couldn't update content without developer support.
The goal was to modernize the experience while improving usability, scalability, and internal content efficiency.
Consultation & Ideation
We aligned business goals, customer behaviors, and content strategy with Mann Lake's team. Discovery focused on improving navigation across a deep category structure, working closely with the client to categorize and simplify the category taxonomy, reducing friction in the purchase journey, and enabling internal teams with flexible content tools.
We defined a scalable UX approach on BigCommerce that balanced brand storytelling with conversion-focused e-commerce patterns.
Wireframing & Prototyping
High-fidelity responsive wireframes were produced for all core pages and assembled into an interactive prototype for client review and iteration. The experience included a category-driven homepage, custom mega menus for complex navigation, and optimized category and PDPs to support faster decision-making.
Additional flows covered carts, contact forms, resource centers, and a store locations page, all designed with mobile usability and scalability in mind.
Final Results
The redesigned platform delivered a flexible, conversion-focused e-commerce experience built to support Mann Lake's growing catalog and content needs. Improved category navigation, clearer product layouts, and streamlined cart interactions reduced friction for customers, while custom widgets and page builder tools gave internal teams greater control over content and promotions, resulting in a scalable BigCommerce experience that supports long-term growth across devices.
